When viewing an archived message you may notice a blue Actions drop down button. This drop down reveals many options for you to choose from that effects the message in different ways. To access these actions:

  1. Login to the control panel.
  2. Under Hosted Services on the left navigation bar click RestorEmail.
  3. From the Email Archive home page select the archive list you wish to view.
  4. Then select a message, on the top right of the message page you will see a blue drop down button called Actions.

Available Actions

Redeliver
Restore / resend the archived message
Reply
Write and send a reply to the archived message
Forward
Send the email to a different email address
Change Archive TTL
Change the expiration details of a single message
Export to File
Export your emails to file format
Hold
Messages are retained in the archive for a specific amount of time

Redeliver

To Redeliver / Restore a message, under the Action drop down select Redeliver.

The Redeliver Messages page allows you to select the original recipient or specify a different address to deliver the message to. You can also select hide the message from displaying in the archive after delivery. Once your configuration is complete, click Run Job.

Change Archive TTL

To Change Archive TTL a message, under the Action drop down select Change Archive TTL.

Change Archive TTL allows you to change the expiration details of a single message or a group of them. Available options are Never expire message(s) and Expire message(s) on: (You can then select a particular date).

Reply and Forward

To Reply or Forward a message, under the Action drop down select Reply or Forward.

This process is identical to any other mail client and sends straight from your archive.

Export to File

To Export to File a message, under the Action drop down select Export to File.

File Exports are EML format and will be charged at $0.01 per 1,000 messages or 1 megabyte exported, whichever comes first and calculations are rounded up.

Scenario 1
You export 950 messages totaling 1.3 megabytes of data, you will be charged $0.02 for 2 megabytes (rounded up) exported.
Scenario 2
You export 1,300 messages totaling 0.95 megabytes of data, you will be charged $0.02 for 2,000 messages (rounded up) exported.

These charges are based on a 30 day calendar month starting on the 1st of each month. So if user1 exports 500 message the first week, and then user2 exports 1000 messages the second week. You would be billed $0.02 at the end of your billing cycle assuming that these messages do not exceed 2MB total.

Legal Holds

To Hold a message, under the Action drop down select Holds.

Legal Hold for eDiscovery can be created to:

  • Ensure messages are retained in the archive for a specific amount of time regardless of the retention time set by a policy.
  • Grant access to a subset of messages in the archive to a specific user.
