We'd hope that you'll never have any problems with VEDIT, but if you do your first step should be to refer to the ERRATA.TXT, WHATSNEW.TXT and README.TXT files in the directory into which VEDIT was installed. They contain basic installation and troubleshooting solutions for the most common issues.

Check the FAQ section for answers to frequently asked sales and technical questions.

Check the User Discussion forum. This is a great way to interact with other users, share ideas and macros, and get help during off-hours.

When contacting us, please be prepared with your registration information (Company, registered user's name).

Suggestions, Bug Reports, or Technical Support

Email your suggestions, bug reports, or technical questions to support@vedit.com Please include:

  • The exact version number and date of VEDIT as displayed in {HELP, About}.
  • The serial number displayed in {HELP, About}.
  • The version of Windows you are running, e.g. Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000 or XP, or if you are running another operating system, please emphasize that.
  • If the files are on a network, please indicate that.
  • The exact steps to replicate the problem, if possible. You can attach files to the e-mail.

Very few "crashes" are reported with VEDIT. Before reporting a "crash", please re-boot your computer and then check if you are still having problems. (Another program or operation might have made Windows unstable.)

We will typically notify you within one day on whether or not we can replicate your bug report. We try hard to fix all serious bugs within a few days. We will then notify you when we release a new version which corrects your reported problem; we may first send you a preliminary version to test.
