Company History
Our Evolution

Our story begins way back in the dawn of the PC, 1980. Greenview Data was founded by Ted Green as a software company with its flagship product Vedit, a text editor designed for programmers to edit gigabyte-sized mainframe files. Frustrated with the limitations and lack of functionality of text editors that were on the market at the time, Ted set out to design a robust text editor capable of editing the largest and most complex mainframe files available. Vedit is still actively marketed, sold and supported. We know of no other software product available today that has the longevity and rich history of Vedit.
By 1982 IBM had launched the PC and Vedit was one of the first software applications to be included on IBM's PC. This led to a major corporate expansion and eventually led to over 150,000 Vedit users across the globe. In 1984 industry giants such as Siemens and Xerox had added Vedit to their product offerings. In the next five years Greenview Data had customers now included some of the largest corporations in the world, including NASA, GE Capital and the US Navy, just to name a few.
2001 was the year of SPAM! Email spam had become prolific. Ted began writing simple anti-spam programs to rid his own inbox of unwanted email. Ted's brother Phil Green joined Greenview Data to help design a commercial anti-spam service.
In 2002 a legend was born. SpamStopsHere was launched and was an immediate success.
In 2004 Networking Computing rated SpamStopsHere number one in accuracy, catapulting SpamStopsHere into critical acclaim and into the mindshare of CIO's looking for an anti-spam solution.
2009 Greenview Data launched RestorEmail, combining best-in-class features, with simple usability and customizable filtering. Greenview Data partnered with ZixCorp to develop Greenview Email Encryption. Developed for organizations that handle sensitive data such as patient records or account-holder information and cannot risk an accidental security lapse over e-mail.
